1ST Week of PBL experience @RP

First up, I would like to apologize on my behalf for not blogging for a couple of days. I was so busy with school and stuffs like that. So for those who arent a RP student and would like to know whats RP system like, in this post I will share whats like to be a RP student.

As I have mention before, I am a shy student + low self-esteem + appear to be cold to others + dont open up to others easily etc etc and i think people like me will see themselves change after they graduate from RP. How can I assure you that is because of the systems that RP has which differs from other poly. As I am student from the School of the Sports Health and Leisure (SHL, which is to me the best and greatest school among all to be part of) , it requires us to be more outspoken and talk alot at the right time. So yeah  Im gonna  talk about whats is this PBL approach is all about in the next paragraph.

PBL approach also know as problem base learning where in each module there will be a problem given by the facilitator (also known as "teacher" or "lecturer" whatever you call it) in each day and by the end of the day, each teams has to present their respective solutions to the problem. It requires students to think out of the box and requires us to do alot of research as there is a template know as PDT (problem definition template) to follow to(act as a guidelines to solve the problem).

My one week of school has been a eye-opener for myself and it surely tells me whats my stand in terms of openness and all among my coursemates. There are 19 of us altogether in our class and yeah everyone has a unique characters and yeah I think it takes time for us to really know each other very well or atleast well enough. Theres so much things that my course mates do not know about me and vice-versa. If they find out  my darkest side , I dont think they will accept me as it is. Sigh its just a matter of time where the rest find out the real me.

Who says I dont open up, haha I found out the OB thingy about the 5 big personality scoring is abit not accurate and untrue lol. Hahha I do open up to strangers but not to my coursemate and I have no idea why. Reason why I dont reveal my self that much is because of my past. Trust issues and stuffs like that. Being bullied as hell during my primary school days but yeah thats old stuffs lol. During sec school, I rarely go out and to know alot of people. (was a terrible geek and nerdy kid back then) hahah. Things have changed after I graduated from sec school. Im starting to love to meet and know new people but I guess I tend to do it at the wrong channel/way if you got what I mean.

I think by now people will have a different perception about me already. Im not as nerdy as what people thought I would turn out to be. Yes I may not be the type who goes out often and explore new places but yeah in another words, I make use of my social media and laptop to know more people. Actually, Im tired of hiding the truth already as I guess my course mates already guess what type of person I really am. So yeah to those who knows it, please keep it to yourself and yeah it would be good if you dont use it(the facts) to bully me/ make me appear small.

Enough of my secrets hahah. Yeah the recent post-FOP camp has taught me a good lesson which is in life, people will look down on you, people gonna crashed you real hard and yeah people will make your life difficult but yeah the point is how are you gonna overcome this type of people and the challenges and how you gonna stand up for yourselves. Im almost teared when hearing those words but well being too emo also does not bring any good to me cause it will make me behave awkwardly with others. Will work on that .

Yeah its such a lengthy post but well deep down , I appreciate my readers who really takes the time to read this post.

 With lots of love,

Secret #2

Not many people knew that I actually attained the certificate for Best Performance in Home Economics Secondary 2 Normal Academic in year 2010. Hahah i must enjoyed myself cooking that much thats why I think I deserve it lol. HAHAH to be honest I have no idea how in the world I could get that award. Come on who will be expecting a nerd fat malay guy achieving that award. Yes I admitted that I have been striving my best to get Best In Malay Language throughout my secondary school years but well somehow luck isnt on my side. For 5 consecutive years i have been working so so hard to get the award-best in Malay Language but yeah I got the Best in Home Economics Secondary 2 NA instead. Hhaha better than nothing lol. Honestly I felt disappointed in not getting the best in Malay Language back then in secondary school cause I would say I do really well in malay language. I was like super baku and super malay (the way i speak lol) back then during the old secondary sch times. Hahah who would have expected that I attained distinction for my malay language during Os. Hahah miracle though hahah. Yeah moving on I wanna blog about DREAMS.

Yes everyone has unique dreams/goals in their own life. However please bear in mind that theres two kind of goals- firstly the short term goals and secondly is the long term goals. Short term goals are goals that you wish to accomplish it within a short period of time while the long term goals are vice versa. However both goals must be a realistic one else yr goals will never be reached. Hmm i guess the key point here is to take one small step at a time and never give up. Yes I came so far to get into RP- went to take my Os and then spend half a year in TP to discover myself deeper and yeah wasted another half a year doing part time job of which most of my secondary school peers are almost reaching to graduation or going to be year2 in poly. Hhaha heck care what people say about me cause Im to the extend that I dont really care that much of what people said about me. Hhaha being too thick skin i guess. Yeah well life has definitely taught me valuable lessons which i cant forgot for sure and I thank god for the chances and opportunities he has given to me to realise my fullest potential. Hopefully during my years in RP, life will teach me more things as Im always hunger for knowledge and eager to share it with my other coursemates. Socials skills is sth that one cant get anywhere from textbook so I hope RP will provide ample opportunities for one to develop his or her socials skills.

Yeah as RP being a institute of higher learning, for sure one has to learn how to be independent for their school work and how to control or manage his or her emotions/feelings. Its like emotions management is really necessary cause if one fail to control his or her emotions, it may cause adversely effect on him or her.

Yeah thats my secret #2 - achieving the Best Performance in Home Economics and to be more outspoken is my long term goal for now. I guess its time for me to step out of my very own comfort zone and explore to new ideas and be wild at times. Hahha being wild in a fun and decent way lol.

I shall end my post here.Take care peeps.

FOP in RP

It been a tiring week for this week as many of u guys might know that this week was week known as FRESHMEN ORIENTATION CAMP/FRESHMEN ORIENTATION PROGRAMME for the polytechnic year 1 students/freshies. Certainly I enjoyed myself during the FOP in RP- the 2 days fun filled with activities that makes us bond together and a day for admin stuffs etc. However somehow I felt that I didnt put my best effort in participating in the activities that has been lined up for us. Its not as though i didn't participate in their activities , it just that i feel I need to speak up more and put in more effort in socializing with new people. Its not that I do not want to or I remained quiet throughout the entire 3 days(which is impossible for me to do so cause I love talking literally), I just discovered that Im not good in leading cheers and leading my entire group to feel motivated and hyped up. It so isnt me to do that kind of things.

Being not able to lead the group with cheers/ songs doesnt make one look anti social or introvert. It just means that one isnt feeling comfortable leading such a big group I would say. I just dont like to be center of attention. I rather go n talk to one person individually and ask him more about him or her life story. The problem with me I guess its that I love to hear more than I love to talk hahah cause god has created 2 ears and 1 mouth for a reason which is to do less of the talking and do listen to people more before judging other people way of life.

This coming Friday will be my inter school camp aka SHL Orientation camp where its gonna be a 2 days 1 night long. I cant promised that at the end of the 2 days 1 night camp I will make 200 new friends. (be realistic people) but what I can promised to myself that I will know atleast 10 new people(if possible memories their names lol)

Yeah before this post making no sense to me anymore, I guess I shall ended here.

With lots of love,
Potato in blue.

REPUBLIC POLY

I should be sleeping at this hour and do blogging but well something bothers me in the heart and somehow its best to let it go somewhere somehow. If I cant let it go through sharing it with a friend verbally, I guess by writing in the blog helps me for sure(hopefully).

Ytd was my former secondary school 8th Honours Day Celebration. I was invited as a alumni student there and to my surprise Greendale Sec has changed a lot. I meant its infrastructure and all. I wonder why all the great things happened after my batch has graduated .lol. Im here not trying to blog about how amaze was I looking at how well my secondary school has revamped itself but more to others stuffs actually.

And therefore as the title in my post says "Republic Poly", I shall begin with why I chose Republic Poly as my choice of studying interest. Reason #1 is because I wanted to be more loud, more extrovert that kind of thing, U got what i meant? Yes I was a very much introvert (plus nerd) student when I was in Greendale Secondary.  I am thankful that I was given leadership opportunities for me to open up in schools and stuffs but what thing I most regretted back then in secondary school was not be able to make full use of the opportunity given. What I literally mean by not making full use of the leadership opportunities was that I still decided not to come out from my comfort zone and you know stick with the people I always knew/heard about them before. As such, with me enrolling to RP, I hope I can DISCOVER the inner beauty/strength and weakness of myself (not trying to say I have not discovered it during my sec sch life ahahaha), TRANSFORM myself to be a more CONFIDENT person and sociable and lastly be able to ACHIEVE my short term and long term goals in my life. Yes it must be a realistic goal for sure. Therefore I chose RP out of the others was because of their unique studying system from what I heard from my other classmates was that RP has a daily representation to be done and I guessed with that, it certainly helps people like me to be more confident of themselves and yeah hopefully I can see changes in me after studying in RP for a semester.

Yeah second reason why I chose RP was because I love sports.  What I have learnt that you dont have to have a sexily, manly figure/body to be able to love sports. Sports isnt meant for sporty person only, for the hot guys with clearly defined sets of abs etcetc but SPORTS IS FOR EVERYONE(must i reiterate that? ahhaha) As long you are keen to learn a sport and improvise the sport that interest you the most, that is what i considered having passion in sports. And never give up on sports eventhough you are complete beginner and noob in that particular sport that you are keen to learn and master it. Remember every professional and well-known sports person was once a beginner in that sport and what makes them to where there are now was the PERSEVERANCE they had put in in their sport, HARDWORK , the amount of blood and sweat they are willing to put in to get to where they are now and  having the HUMBLENESS/ HUMILITY. Yes why HUMILITY is because by being proud of yourself and think that you are the superior one will not get you far. Yes you may be well respected and all but if you happened not to notice of your actions, your words and all in the media press and in your personal life, I guess your hardcore fans will start to dislike you so yeah anyways its good to be humble-help others rise aswell if possible. Little things like encouraging your peers to do well in that sports certainly helps to rise his or her spirit in the sport. I may be fat and abs-less but I love sports so yeah I shall not changed myself just because to "fit in" or feel belonged. HAHA. Maybe I will start to work on my fitness as ultimately Im decided to be a coach in my sport which is BADMINTON.YAY. Theres still a long journey for me to go and I shall do what it takes to be a coach. Yes eventgh it might takes me another 5 more years or 10 more years to be a accredited coach , so be it and I will never give up. The faster I received the cert to be a accredited coach, the better cause lesser waiting time and yeah i can possibly depends on my parents for everything right at the age of 24 right? ahahha I wanna be independent and source out my own income with my diploma in SPORTS COACHING.

Third reason why I chose RP was because RP people are more outgoing. They are one of the friendliest people I ever met during my sec sch time and my first year in TP and therefore I thought it would be a good chance to mingle with like minded people who loves sports and who loves to be healthy. No more other reason to list down as RP is SIMPLY THE BEST RP among others(haha bias much right cause im a RP Student mah) and yeah may the experiences in RP that i soon to encounter teaches me great things in life that I have yet to know or learn elsewhere.

With that, I hope people will help me to overcome my fears and yeah hopefully to turn some strangers when I first me them to bestfriends.

I realised I have type long enough and for sure most of my readers here knows more about myself(I wrote so much details of myself already) so yeah and IM SO EXCITED FOR ORIENTATION CAMP NEXT MONDAY.

With lots of love,
Potato in blue.

Secret number1

Let me think what to start with with my first ever secret. U see that hamster in a cage.Wht u see its just purely me feeding my hamsters right.  However how I analyse(wah chey analyse seh) this pic is that pets has no or little freedom.(I'm not expert in this though but well what I'm trying to say is that being locked up in a cage or in a small squeeze room = little/zero freedom , got what I mean?) This is different from us humans.

Yes I  must admit youth/teenagers just like me n u loves to have our freedom badly in our own ways.
We thought that yes by having so much freedom at e very young age will do us good but heck I'm not a priest or what not trying to say having so much freedom is a good nor a bad thing. Some people have different views about it so yeah I shall leave it that to my readers. So whats my exact opinion abt having too much freedom or too little freedom is this.

Too much freedom = people will TEND( n yes I used e word tend) go astray while on e other hand, too little freedom = you will become kampung boy aka village boy whereby u don't really know what's life outside other than inside of yr house.

Ouh yeah back to my secret, I think I've little freedom back then in e past when I was much much younger. It's like I can't do what I wanted to do when I was younger or I can't go to places that I always wished I could go when I was younger as well. . It's always(mostl of the time actually) a no no from both of my parents.  N yes its a big no no N YES A STRICTLY NO.  Have u heard " no means no" that kind of line?  cause that line isn't a stranger to me even till up to date.
Let me share my personal story. I was being told that I could get a X box game set when I passed my psle  ah (which was 7-8 years ago) but afterall its an another empty promises yet again.  Even if I'd any gaming set be it xbox or psp/ps3/ps4 whatever e latest trend in gaming right now, I think I will sell it away and use e money to buy notebook for my blogging purposes and another purposes for sure( hehe )

Haha well this will be my ever first post about me. I'm targeting 10 secrets to share openly for now. hahha

Reasons

Reason why i created a blog is because i would want to share my stories in my blog. Yes i have to admit that i dont have e most bestest life or whtnot but im grateful that im still alive to blog n all. I come from a humble n decent family background, having e fact that i was grown up in e northeastern side of sg for more than a 10 years makes me love my home even more. Yeah back to e main topic of why do i create a blog. Another possibe reason is as everyone are aware of it, blog serves a platform to express one feelings/thoughts ,opinions ,rants n even ideas etc.  And therefore since i do have alot of things to say, might as well i blog it out instead of voicing it to other people. Hahah do i sound very introvert here? Hahah i might be shy in e outside but yeah only a selected few can see my other half. Thts e specialty of being a introvert youth. Hehe this post isnt meant for me to discuss about introvert or extrovert so yeah getting back track to e topic, there could be other reasons why other people like u decided to create a blog. N therefore please comment it here at e comment box on e reasons why u created a blog. I shared my reasons so yeah why not u do e sharing. Hehe anyways if theres a need to ask sth about anything, kindly do ask me at ask.fm/potatolicious2.(sorry for e formality)
